Born in Horta, Faial (1967), PhD in Geography, University of the Azores (2000), auxiliary professor at the University of the Azores. Specialized in Geography and Regional Planning, and also interested in territorial management, bio-physical planning, geographical information systems and nature conservation. Since 2003 is head of the Geography Section – Department of Biology.
