Alexandra Silva is a biologist specializing in Human Biology and Health, and holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of the Azores.

Her scientific experience has focused primarily on the study of cyanobacteria and the application of solid-phase absorption methods (SPATT) for the detection of cyanotoxins.

Throughout her career, she has acquired expertise in molecular biology and genetics techniques, actively collaborating with Bank of Algae and Cyanobacteria of the Azores (BACA).

She is currently a member of CIBIO-Azores and continues to pursue a career in scientific research and environmental monitoring.
