Cátia Alves
PhD Student

I took a master's degree in Marine Ecology (2019) at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, after which I worked in environmental education at the Oceanário de Lisboa, interned at the University of Edinburgh and St Abbs Marine Station (Scotland) and joined a team of researchers at the Center for Marine and Environmental Sciences (MARE). I am currently a PhD student in the Doctoral Program Biodiversity, Genetics and Evolution (BIODIV), where I aim to study the population genetic structure of three species of crabs throughout the Macaronesian islands, to clarify their evolution on remote oceanic islands.
