Anastácia Carreiro holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology, with a specialization in Human Health, from the University of the Azores.

She is currently a collaborator at CIBIO-Azores, where she is involved in scientific research.

Her activities focus on the maintenance of the BACA collection, microalgae cultivation, and the preparation of extracts for bioactivity studies.

Her work also involves the use of zebrafish as an experimental model to assess toxicity, behavioural effects, and the bioactive potential of extracts, including in the context of neurodegenerative diseases.
