On 27 and 28 November, the International Tourism Congress (ITC 2024)

On 27 and 28 November, the International Tourism Congress (ITC 2024) took place in the city of Mindelo, Cape Verde, a scientific meeting on tourism promoted annually by the Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation (CiTUR) and this year organised by UTA (Universidade Técnica do Atlântico).

Cibio was present through PhD student Daniela Casimiro, who presented two extended abstracts on the following themes:

1. ‘Steering a new pathway: The role of Governance in supporting sustainable tourism in Cape Verde’, developed as part of her doctoral thesis;

2. ‘The dual challenge: outdoor sports and conservation efforts in São Miguel island's protected areas’, developed by Eleni Alexiou, an Erasmus + internship student at the UAC, in collaboration with Cibio's Natour group.
