WAVES – Workshop on Advanced Vehicles for Exploration of the Seas

Today, 14 October, WAVES – Workshop on Advanced Vehicles for Exploration of the Seas is taking place. This workshop is organised by the University of the Azores and INESC-TEC, involving the CIBIO-Azores and IS2E \ LIACC research centres, with the support of IVAR this year. The third edition of WAVES aims to bring the scientific and business community of the Azores closer to the opportunities brought about by new technologies, on the theme of ‘the use of technology in the prediction and mitigation of marine environmental risks’.

The workshop will take place in amphitheatre VIII of the University of the Azores, starting at 9:30 a.m. Participants include Portos dos Açores, S.A., Trisolaris, Thius (terinov), Futurismo, the natural risk management division of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, among others. It also includes a round table discussion with the participation of all those present and two demonstration activities on the 15th and 17th, with public sessions to present the results at 5 p.m. in the departure lounge of the Ponta Delgada cruise terminal.
