UAc participates in a meeting of the European Alliance of Universities on Islands, Ports and Coastal Territories – EUNICoast

"UAc participates in a meeting of the European Alliance of Universities on Islands, Ports and Coastal Territories – EUNICoast, from 11 to 15 November 2024, in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, through a short and intensive programme (BIP - Blended Intensive Programme), where 13 Universities/Institutes participate and where Andrea Zita Botelho was present. In this event, taking place at the UIB – University of the Balearic Islands, five thematic areas are addressed, with the aim of creating interdisciplinary teaching and research programs responding to relevant challenges and initiatives:

- WG1 - Identities, Local Knowledge, and Cultural Heritage in Islands & Coastal Communities;

- WG2 - Blue Circular Economy, Port Logistics, and Sustainable Blue Tourism;

- WG3 - Governance, Planning, Management, and Monitoring of Islands and Coastal Communities;

- WG4 - Health, Biodiversity Protection, Nature-based Solutions, and Sustainable Exploration of Coastal/Marine Resources;

- WG5 - Engineered and Data-driven Solutions for Coastal Infrastructures, Marine Renewable Energy, Marine Safety, and Navigation Systems."
